For this week’s Camera Challenge, the chefs were challenged to create a “unique party bite” for a themed party, including three ingredients from their mystery baskets. Herb’s “Pool Party” basket creation failed to thrill the judges and he stumbled during his on camera presentation. Tom and Brad charmed the panel with their food and personalities and were awarded the win with an advantage for the Star Challenge.
The Star Challenge opened with the contestants walking into the kitchen to see a table full of classic American dishes such as Beef Stroganoff and Tuna Noodle Casserole. The chefs were assigned dishes and instructed to recreate the chosen dish for an updated dinner party at Frank Sinatra’s Palm Springs home. Herb’s recreation of Beef Stroganoff included a variety of mushrooms and organic pasta and failed to impress the panel. While Brianna’s Tuna Noodle casserole was praised for its flavor, her “negative attitude” left the judges with a bad taste in their mouths. Brad took home the challenge win with his take on Chicken Cordon Bleu and “effortless style.” In the bottom, Herb, Brianna and Aarti gave heartfelt pleas to continue their battle, but ultimately, Brianna was sent home.
